About Me
My Journey to becoming a Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapist
In my thirties I undertook a degree in psychology with the Open University. At that time, balancing a career in Central Government and raising a family as a single parent made it untenable for me to dive into a new career. However, my curiosity about the mind and human behaviour always stayed with me.
Like many, I’ve faced challenges with stress, overthinking, and anxiety. Over the years, I explored various therapies, but only found short-term relief. When I discovered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) combined with Hypnotherapy, it was transformative. This approach didn’t just provide temporary fixes—it rewired my thinking, leading to lasting change.
After taking voluntary redundancy and with my children off my hands to having flown the nest,, I decided to follow my passion. I chose to become qualified in the therapies that had been so successful in helping me. Now, I’m fully trained and committed to helping others overcome life’s challenges, just as I did.

My Mission
I’m here to support you in taking control of your life by working with you to create meaningful, lasting change. Take for your next step to transforming your life

My life experience means I understand and am sympathetic to the challenges around difficulties in changing negative behaviours, but my professional qualifications give me the solid framework in which to help and support your journey to a more fulfilled life. Below are my most relevant qualifications:
- Level 5 Higher Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy: This means I have an in-depth knowledge of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and hypnotherapy. I’m skilled in guiding clients to challenge and work to change unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, and behaviour patterns? using structured, evidence-based interventions.
- Mental Health First Aid Course: Many years ago, whilst still working in a corporate environment, I volunteered to take a course in mental health support. Our organisation recognised that most employees will need help with mental and emotional stress at some point during their working life. This training allowed me to help work colleagues experiencing mental health difficulties by developing those skills needed to identify and understand behaviours displayed by people suffering with extreme stress and offer appropriate initial assistance. I still utilise these skills every day in both my professional and home life and they complement my training in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy.
- BSc (Hons) Psychology: A psychology degree explores all biological and neural aspects of human behaviour. My studies provided insights into how the brain develops and changes throughout the life cycle, enriching my approach to therapy.
I look forward to helping you on your journey
